Art Brussels

Brussels, Belgium , 22 - 24 April 2016

Richard Saltoun will participate to the Prime and Rediscovery sections of Art Brussels 2016

The work of British minimal artist Bob Law (1934-2004) will be presented for the first time in Brussels since his 1979 exhibition at the Palais des Beaux-Arts.

Richard Saltoun will exhibit two of his strongest series:  the early 'field' and 'open' drawings from the 1960s and 1970s, the outline shape of the landscape reduced to simple schematic lines on paper, and his heavily layered "black" watercolours and paintings. Both bodies of work illustrate his renowned skills as a draughtsman and painter.

Presenting the work of four leading artists of the twentieth century, Richard Saltoun Gallery brings together conceptual art, photography, poetry and optical art, for their booth at Art Brussels. Key works by Marcel Broodthaers, Henri Chopin, John Hilliard and Bridget Riley will illustrate each artist's individual and ground-breaking approach to their art practice.

Specializing in post-war art with an emphasis on the 1970s, Richard Saltoun focuses on innovative and experimental artists who are now being rediscovered and reassessed.
