This print is based on One Flesh, 1985, a collage of photocopied paper now in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. One Flesh represents a madonna-like figure, a female child and a placenta in a collage of photocopies from life. The woman, Paula, was friend and neighbour and had just given birth to a baby girl with the artist Genesis P-Orridge. She holds the baby, the placenta and cord hovering above her head as some profane subversive halo.
