Desert scenes are a recurring theme in Fontaine’s drawings. Nostalgic, whimsical and embodying freedom, they recall one of her happiest times in 2012 when she moved to San Francisco to study performance at the Arts Institute. It was during this time that she first witnessed truly radical action performance, which encouraged her to bring her own performance work out from behind closed doors.
