Drawing on influence of Feminist art practices of the 60s and 70s, A Lovely Life is a surrealist portrait of a woman trapped in the narrative of a domestic housewife, hanging between two realms with an iron for a head tied at the neck and bound to a tree by a serpent. To her left, a petrified forest scene and to her right, a ship sinks underneath an apple pie sun.
