In this twisted erotic self-portrait, the artist continues her investigation of women throughout history by depicting herself as a modern-day fetishized Cleopatra, who according to legend, died from inflicting a venomous snake bite to her breast. In the place of an asp are nipple-clamps of dangling rats and a hot-dog, gesturing ridiculous acts of foreplay, with Fontaine’s body as the playground.
