Richard Saltoun Gallery presents a group exhibition bringing together significant works by visionary artists Gino MAROTTA (1935 - 2012), Bea SCACCIA (b. 1978), Flaminia VERONESI (b. 1986) and Silvia GIAMBRONE (b. 1981).
Gino MAROTTA emerged in Italy for his innovative use of industrial materials, particularly methacrylate, creating three-dimensional sculptures that explore the tension between the natural and the artificial. His works have been exhibited at Panorama, Pozzuoli (2025), and the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Rome (2012). Internationally, his work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art, New York (1972); Pace Gallery, New York (1971); the Musée du Louvre, Paris (1969); and the Museu de Arte Moderna, São Paulo (1967).
Bea SCACCIA reworks elements of beauty and appearance in her paintings, compressing them into surreal, uncanny marks of affectation. Exploring the cultural links between feminine splendor and monstrosity, she creates compositions that can be read as parodies of bon ton. Her recent exhibitions include the 18th Quadriennale d’Arte, Rome (ongoing); JDJ Tribeca, New York (2022); and Katonah Museum of Art, New York (2021).
Flaminia VERONESI explores the fantastic and the marvelous through a playful approach to artistic practice, creating works in diverse media—from textiles and ceramics to sculpture, painting, and installations. In 2025, she created the Bee Awards for the 24th Triennale Milano International Exhibition and an art poster for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Recent solo exhibitions include Maternità Sociale. GrandeMadreMamma, Simondi Gallery, Turin (2024), and Le diable au corps, Galleria Bonelli, Canneto sull’Oglio (2024).
Silvia GIAMBRONE investigates contemporary body politics through performance, installation, photography, sculpture, and sound, with a focus on violence against women. Using an almost ethnographic approach, she examines domestic spaces and hidden power dynamics between men and women. Recent exhibitions include the solo show Sexually explicit content, PAC Padiglione Arte, Milan (2023); You Owe Me One, Prometeo Gallery, Milan (2023); and Reclaiming & Making: Art, Desire, Violence, Museum of Sex, Murray Hill, New York, USA (2022).
