Art Cologne: Booth C-130

6 - 9 November 2025

Following recent solo exhibitions at two major German institutions – Annegret SOLTAU (b. 1946) at The Städel Museum and BRACHA (b. 1948) at K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen – Richard Saltoun Gallery presents a group exhibition featuring works by both artists, alongside further highlights including Samira ABBASSY (b. 1965), Fathi HASSAN (b. 1957) Greta SCHÖDL (b. 1929), and TOYEN (1902–1980).

Bracha (Bracha L. Ettinger), is a prominent international artist who's work intertwines painting, psychoanalysis, and feminist theory to explore themes of trauma, memory, and the feminine subject. Her confrontational and emotionally charged works have been the subject of several institutional exhibitions, most recently a solo show at K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf (2025).

Fathi Hassan’s work blends abstract caligraphy with vibrant colours, to create a symbolic visual language that reflects on the complexities of history and heritage. His work can be found in several public collections, including the V&A, the British Museum, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art.

Greta Schödl is considered one of the most significant living artists working in the field of visual poetry (Poesia Visiva). With a practice spanning over seven decades, Schödl continues to redefine the relationship between language, material, and meaning. Following her participation in the 2024 Venice Biennale, Schödl was the subject of a notable solo exhibition at the Phileas Foundation in Vienna (2025).

Annegret Soltau has championed an experimental approach to art since the 1970s. Through her use of performance, photography, and collage, Soltau has developped a radical visual language that challenges the conventional notions of representation. Recent exhibitions include a major retrospective at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt (2025).

Additional works will be on view by Heidi BUCHER, Carmen DIONYSE, Otto DIX, Simone FATTAL, and Unica ZÜRN.
