Laima Leyton: Lack of
New sound commission for 'On Hannah Arendt' LISTEN NOW Lack of is a sound piece by Laima Leyton, inspired by the first chapter 'Tradition and the Modern Age' in Hannah Arendt's 1968 publication Between Past and Future. To accompany Richard Saltoun Gallery's 'On Hannah Arendt: Eight Proposals for Exhibition', Laima draws on her multifaceted identity as a producer, musician, activist, artist, mother and teacher to create eight unique sound pieces in response to each exhibition in the programme and each chapter in Arendt's book. Titled collectively as Infinite past, infinite future and NOW, the works together engage with themes of time, culture, truth and spirituality. -

ULAY
ULAY, Untitled, 1974ULAY's radically and historically unique oeuvre operates at the intersection of photography and the conceptually-oriented approaches of Performance and Body Art.
Between 1968 and 1971, after training as a photographer, ULAY worked extensively as a consultant for Polaroid, which inspired him to start experimenting with the analogue camera and the instant photography it provided.
Taking hundreds of self-portraits, each manipulated in a myriad of ways, ULAY developed an approach that was novel in both method and subject matter. He used the camera as a tool to investigate and modify identity, whilst exploring socially constructed issues of gender. -
100% Women
1 March 2019 - 1 March 2020From March 2019 to March 2020, Richard Saltoun Gallery dedicated 100% of its exhibition and art fair programme to women artists. Titled 100% Women, the initiative was implemented to address the gender inequality that persists in the art world and encourage wider industry action through debate, dialogue and collaboration. It is now a leader in its representation of female artists, from avant-garde pioneers of the 1960s and '70s to a younger generation of female artists working today. It continues to support female artists through extensive research, partnerships and solo presentations at the gallery and online.
