“My experimentation with Kantha embroidery is a nod to the labour and cultural heritage of Bengali women who practice this handicraft. The central figure is stitched with recycled textile waste—a symbolic reference to the secondary position of women in society. The background is dyed brown with used tea leaves, which ties the artwork once again to the domestic sphere”.
