Monsieur le CHRIST, 2008, recalls the accumulations of Arman or the ‘snare-pictures’ of Daniel Spoerri. Using spools of cassette tapes, computer parts, records, and other audio-visual equipment, Chopin creates a crucifix form sculpture that appears as an homage, or indeed a memorial, to sound poetry. Executed in 2008, it can be considered a harbinger of his own death that year.
