Like her earlier assemblages using paper clips, snap-fasteners, razor blades etc. this work uses makeup - a “found” medium. It is one of her only series which explicitly references female identity and gender; the use of cosmetics a reference to the role of women as objects of beauty in society. It is a striking work and quintessential Kolarova.Exhibitions
