Bertina Lopes

The exhibition Via XX Settembre 98. La casa come luogo di resistenza (Via XX Settembre 98. The house as a place of resistance) at Museo delle Civiltà in Rome will present a reconstruction of the Bertina Lopes' home-archive.

 

Some particularly significant works related to her pictorial production will be exhibited, as well as a series of memorabilia (photographs, Makonde statues, books and photo albums) to narrate the artistic and human journey of this prolific artist and political activist, who dedicated her life to the fight against the abuse of power and injustice of all kinds.

 

The exhibition will be open 6 June - 5 November 2023.
