The catalogue spans Ria Verhaeghe's (b.1950) works from the 1990s to today, accompanied by a text by curator Catherine de Zegher.

Verhaeghe is a Belgian artist living and working in Bruges with an oeuvre spanning painting, sculpture, collage and video. Rooted in her personal experience of having worked as a nurse, her artistic practice is primarily concerned with giving new significance to everyday newspaper images of death and tragedy that are often quickly discarded and forgotten. Verhaeghe reflects on the politics of image consumption in contemporary society. Verhaeghe's collection of some 60,000 newspaper clippings and images called Provisoria forms the nucleus of her practice and weaves through the majority of her work - such as the Vertical paintings, Prayer and Cuddle sculptures all featured in this catalogue.
