Artefiera Bologna: Group Show | Booth A2

6 - 8 February 2026
Overview

Richard Saltoun Gallery presents a group exhibition featuring works by renowned Italian artists across different generations. The exhibition includes works by Gino MAROTTA (1935–2012), alongside significant works by Flaminia VERONESI (b. 1986), Bea SCACCIA (b. 1978), Franca MARANÒ (1920–2015), and Silvia GIAMBRONE (b. 1981).

Gino Marotta was among the first artists to experiment with the expressive potential of methacrylate, creating three-dimensional sculptures that explore the tension between the natural and the artificial. His work has been presented in major exhibitions both in Italy and internationally, including Panorama, Pozzuoli (2025); Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Rome (2012); Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia (1971); Museum of Modern Art, New York (1972); Musée du Louvre, Paris (1969); and Museu de Arte Moderna, São Paulo (1967).

Flaminia Veronesi explores the fantastic and the marvelous through a playful approach to artistic practice, creating works in diverse media—from textiles and ceramics to sculpture, painting, and installations. In 2025, she created the Bee Awards for the 24th Triennale Milano International Exhibition and an art poster for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Recent solo exhibitions include Maternità Sociale. GrandeMadreMamma, Simondi Gallery, Turin (2024), and Le diable au corps, Galleria Bonelli, Canneto sull’Oglio (2024).

Bea Scaccia's paintings transform elements of beauty and appearance into unstable, uncanny compositions. Her work explores the cultural ties between feminine splendour and monstrosity, often emphasising the absurdity of our social norms. In 2025, she exhibited at the 18th Quadriennale, Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome, curated by Francesco Bonami. Other solo exhibitions include Maruani Mercier, Brussels (2025); Richard Saltoun, Rome (2025); JDJ Tribeca, New York (2022); the Katonah Museum of Art, New York (2021); Cuchifritos Gallery, New York (2014); and Galleria Ugo Ferranti, Rome (2010).

Franca Maranò was a pioneering figure of the feminist avant-garde in southern Italy. A nonconformist artist working across ceramics, painting, and textiles, her practice is marked by continuous experimentation with materials and visual languages, and is closely connected to the activity of Centrosei Gallery, a key platform for avant-garde art in Puglia during the late twentieth century. Her work has been exhibited in major exhibitions in Italy and internationally, including WIAC – Women’s International Art Club, London (1965); the MIC International Museum of Ceramics, Faenza; Expo Arte, Bari (1976, 1977, 1989); K18–Stoffwechsel, Kassel (1981); and several editions of Art Basel, Basel (1981–1985) with Centrosei.

Silvia Giambrone investigates contemporary body politics through performance, installation, photography, sculpture, and sound, with a focus on violence against women. Using an almost ethnographic approach, she examines domestic spaces and hidden power dynamics between men and women. Recent exhibitions include the solo show Sexually explicit content, PAC Padiglione Arte, Milan (2023); You Owe Me One, Prometeo Gallery, Milan (2023); and Reclaiming & Making: Art, Desire, Violence, Museum of Sex, Murray Hill, New York, USA (2022).

Additional works will be on view by Bice LAZZARI, Coralla MAIURI, Fabio MAURI and SISSI.
